About the Artist

Sarah Lauridsen lives in South Pomfret, VT.  Sarah graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts from St. Lawrence University.  She is originally from New London, NH and comes from an artistic background. Sarah spent the many years living in various places in Vermont, until she and her husband, Eric, set roots in South Pomfret where they live with their two children, Agnes and Ernest, and springer spaniel, Ira.

She is an avid fly fisher and has found trout to be one of her favorite subjects, both in the studio and on the water.  Many of the trout Sarah paints she has landed herself.  As for the Highland Cattle, Sarah found them irresistible, and even more so when she started to paint them.   Each painting reflects the unique personality of the subject.

When Sarah isn’t traveling for her job in the ski industry, she spends as much time in her studio as possible, as well as spending time outside with her family & friends.

Sarah’s artwork is featured in the Patagonia collection.  You can also find her artwork at L.L.Bean, where her custom artwork is on the “Wingo Belts”. Orvis has featured her for a show at the headquarters in Manchester, VT. She also has artwork on some products from Give’r, an outdoor company out of Jackson Hole, WY.   Many of her paintings can be found in private homes in places like Jackson Hole, WY; Park City, UT; Aspen, CO; Tahoe, CA; New York City, NY; Magalloway, ME; Toronto, CAN; Wanaka, NZ and beyond.

All of my paintings are started with two coats of Gesso (primer) following by 4-5 coats of base color paint.  This is for longevity as well as overall look, very saturated, no light will show through the canvas. This also offers superior protection from any possible fading etc.

I use the finest quality of paints and do not use any cheap low grade stuff.
